command control joystick (IDrive?) malfunction after SRS recall
Hi all,
my dad has a 2009 C200 CDI.
the car was recalled to replace the SRS airbag computer that located under the center console. in order to replace the SRS computer the center console was disassembled.
after the computer was replaced the joystick located near the gear shifter (i believe it's called IDrive or command controller?) stopped working. the workshop says everything was connected back properly, but it's too weird for a coincidence.
is there something that should be configured with STAR program regarding this joystick? maybe they forgot to do something in the workshop? any information will be useful.
thanks a lot.

It has been known to reliably fail after about 48~49 months. But I would see if the dealer could comp the work. Supposedly it can be fixed with some super glue.

Could be either but the mechanical failure is rather common and tends to happen just out of warranty. I haven't dealt with it yet but there is thread that has been going on about this for years. Some people super glue it and others order new knobs on ebay.
You could probably persuade the dealer to fix if it worked when it went in. It's a rather costly fix with parts and labor from the dealer.
