OEM Air Intake Part Question

The passenger side air inlet is breaking apart at the flexible part of the inlet. Only the passenger side inlet is doing this. The part number that I have found is 2720903682. Replacing the piece looks to be my only option. Does anyone know of anyone on the forums here selling one?

I went ahead and found a replacement on Ebay and purchased it.

I was going to say I found them on ebay for less than $75.

amoffitt 03-13-2017 05:19 PM

Yea I purchased one for $62.10.

The one that I ordered showed up but it did not come in a Mercedes Benz box. I messaged the seller previously and they said they were a Mercedes Dealership and that the part would come like it would from a Mercedes Dealership. My question is, do air intake inlets not come in Mercedes part boxes like all the rest of the parts that I have ordered that were Mercedes?

This is what they sent me https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...4f5e9e1911.jpg

This is how they compare. I'm not sure if Mercedes redesigned them or something but the long section of material doesn't look the same between the two.

Those parts come from mercedes with just a tag on them like that. Sometimes just in a big bag. So they just put it in their own box. Somewhere along the line the model must have been confused. That looks like the intake for a GLK model with a 272 engine.

I see. Good to know. Do you know if there is a different part number that I need to be looking under?

So that was the old part number and the one that I ordered is the replacement part number?

Rocman8 03-18-2017 09:39 PM

Correct. If you want the other side to match order a 2720903582

amoffitt 03-18-2017 09:42 PM

So I could find a 2720901282 and buy that but it would be used off Ebay most likely I guess. I cant get that new from Mercedes anymore since it was replaced. Do you know what was the reason that it was replaced by the other part number?

Rocman8 03-18-2017 10:10 PM

I don't know why but they are always updating part numbers.

amoffitt 03-20-2017 09:02 AM

I suppose this is a upgraded version of the same thing?

Rocman8 03-20-2017 09:31 AM

Yes

amoffitt 03-20-2017 09:32 AM

Does Mercedes Benz USA have an email contact? I am curious to know why they upgraded this part and to find out some more info. Seems like I will have to replace the drivers side one as well to make it match correctly.

This is what it looks like currently. Doesn't matech but at least my passenger side inlet is cracked and works as intended again.
