X-Pipe Exhaust Noise

I currently have an x pipe in place of my resonator on my 2008 W204.
It sounds amazing and is perfect, but i want to amplify the sound a lot more.
I thought about getting the 11216 Magnaflow Mufflers but its expensive to install (at least at my shops) and risky (might not give me the sound i seek).

Any way i can amplify the sound of the x pipe much more? I'm looking for a rather cheap cost (up to $500), and to not replace the whole exhaust system.

A secondary cat/resonator delete should do the trick. A muffler delete could also be the sound you are looking for, but do both and it will be too loud IMO! I did the X-pipe + Muffler Delete first and it was awesome but the interior drone was annoying so I went with #11226 Mufflers later on. But then it became too quiet so I deleted the 2nd res/cats and it's now a nice middle. I think 2nd res/cat delete would be enough sound with x pipe and it is the cheaper choice, but a muffler delete wont be much more expensive so it depends what sound you like.

In my state, it is illegal to remove the cats. I'll probably go with the muffler delete. And what did you mean by drone? Was it just really loud at idle or?

The drone he is talking about is at a certain rpm's driving down the road.

Yep, you will hear the drone more during highway speeds while the engine is cruising at about 3-4k RPM. It's not so bad in stop and go street driving. Some people have said the drone isn't that bad and raising the volume of the music does the trick so it may not be a big thing for you. The 2nd cats are really more like resonators, as long as you don't touch the primary cats nearest to the engine you should be fine. Check out this thread for clips of my current setup, my previous str8 pipe setup and pictures of said "2nd cats/resonators"

I'll probably do that secondary cat/resonator delete for that middle. Thank you so much. I'll check out the posts and setups.
Also, whats do you think is better, an x pipe or straight pipe?
I have an x pipe on mine and it sounds great, but sometimes i hear that a straight pipe sounds better on the downshifts.

They are not cats. They are resonators in the rear. The only cat is located under the front seats region.

So there's 2 resonators? Do you mind finding a picture of where the second resonator would be?

I don't have a picture on hand. There is a larger "canister" type resonator under the rear seat region (I removed that and put my X-pipe in its place). Then directly behind that are two small "ball" type resonators. I kept the 2 smaller resonators but deleted the large one, and also did the muffler delete for E63 AMG square tips.

You can see them in a pic from under my car in this thread I linked above

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...flers-etc.html

It's the pic where I encircled the X-pipe, the Secondary Resonators are just to the right of that, and the primary catalytics are alll the way to the right of the pic, closest to the engine.

You can also see the piping that replaces the 2nd resonators here in the beginning of this video...

I highly recommend getting a muffler delete. Source:
