Thoughts on Electric Cutouts

I was ready to pull the trigger on installing a x-pipe until recently I ran into the idea of adding electric cutouts on the exhaust. Since I live in a bedroom community and the possibility of switching from loud and stock is highly appealing to me personally. I was thinking of installing them between the stock resonator and mufflers. I searched the w204 forum for threads about electric cutouts and I ran into that idea. I'm curious on y'all's opinions and two main questions I have would be

• Just how loud would it be in comparison to an xpipe?
• Will it have a deep sounding tone?

Appreciate it guys

It will probably sound like a muffler delete + xpipe setup, you can find many of those on youtube. This is the only c300 I know of on YT that has done it with cutouts...

Just make sure to get the good kind like QTP. I spoke with the owner of that car and he got cheap generic brand cutouts off ebay and the motors died on those quick.

Oh okay cool cool. On an estimate, do you know how much it would cost labor wise to have it installed with or without the wiring?

I was thinking about this myself and got a quote for it from my local shop, I believe it was 500 including the wiring.

I've been thinking of this too. Does anyone think it would be better/easier/worth it to get a set of cutouts that have a wireless remote for opening/closing the valves? I dont particularly mind the hidden switches, but I'd prefer a little remote.

I think most are universal cutouts with hidden switches, the name brand ones like Fi Exhaust, IPE exhaust etc, have remotes. Was browsing youtube and saw that SmurfinWrx's friend actually did this recently to his exhaust. They don't go into much detail about it, but here is the video...
