Another Brake thread, what to choose?
I'm getting close to that first brake job so I'm debating on what to do.
#1 Full OEM(minus labour, ill do it myself)?
FRONT PADS $131.10
FRONT ROTORS $168.50 X 2 $337.00
WARNING SENSOR $13.98
LABOR $278.00
TOTAL $760.08 PLUS TAXES $858.89
REAR PADS $95.70
REAR ROTORS $79.10 X 2 $158.20
WARNING SENSOR $13.98 $13.98
LABOR $278.00
TOTAL $545.88 PLUS TAXES $616.84
#2 Zimmermann rotors with Akebono pads?
#3 full BOSCH set up?
I'm leaning toward #2 they all pretty much come to the same price. what do you guys think?

I changed mine to Akebono. I didn't changed the rotors though. I bought the Akebono pads from an ebay seller who made bought the wrong pads for his E350 for an unbelievable price of $ 55 with shipping - front and rear pads with sensors. I was of course skeptical but it was delivered and I installed it.
IMO, better pads overall and very light break dust compared to OEM.

Get your parts here: http://exoparts.com/
Shipping is $15 to London Ontario. Be sure to let them know you are a reader of mbworld. Make sure you also give them the prices that you have received from a dealer. They will beat it every time.

I am considering Zimmerman or Bosch quiet cast rotors also so if you find some in Canada or a good price from the USA please let me know.
Prices are ok out of the USA but shipping is usually pretty insane to Canada.

If you need help doing this job yourself, we have some pretty extensive brake tech articles here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...204.htm#brakes.
Zimmerman rotors are great to go with as well as Akebono pads. They're low dust and noise pads so you should be happy with them as a daily driver pad. Let me know if you have any questions.

lots of posts thanks guys. ya i just posted the dealership price, I have a place in London where I can get a pretty good deal on any parts. I just paid $14 for a Mann oil filter, I'm just debating on what set up to get.
I put my summer rims on today and actually looked at my pads and rotors...they looks like new even with 50,000KM+ on them. they seem to be wearing a little more on than the inside pads than the outside pads but not by much, like wise for the rotors.
I just feel like i need to do something with the brakes overtime i hit them a little harder I feel the car wiggle. I guess i've been hauling *** lately lol.

Thoughts? I know it's the same thing, but here's the thing.
The MANN cabin air filter on Amazon....reviews said it's the same as OEM. It clearly isn't. I actually counted the # of folds for the MANN air filter vs the OEM filter which is also made by MANN. There are 4 folds more for the OEM filter than the MANN air filter which is supposedly OEM.
Since then, for critical parts like an engine oil filter, I'll buy OEM.
Weird, eh? Yeah I'm **** about this sort of thing.

Wow, charging 2+- hrs for front or rear!!!!! I'm getting a job as a Mercedes tech! I could do that whole job in a hr at the most... I like that idea, 4 hrs pay for one 🤔... Don't forget the sensors!
