More Knob threads... COMAND VOLUME KNOB.
Since today is national knob day, figured I'd post something that has been bother me for months. My volume knob on the dash COMAND takes a long time to raise the volume of the music. It is much slower than the steering wheel button and it feels as if it is not always catching. The fastest way to raise the volume through the knob is to slowly raise it at a consistent speed, but not too fast. Is this the same cheap part as the COMAND control knob shaft?
Thanks.
Thanks.

If by "normal" you mean the number of turns versus the volume level is getting higher the more time goes by, then I agree...
In other words, (my knob does the same thing as described by OP) but its gotten worse with time... I attribute this to the fact that the knob is a mechanical switch which is subject to wear and tear as time goes b. Whereas the steering wheel volume control is an electronic switch the might still wear out, but not as a function of spinning.
Keep in mind I have been wrong before....
That said, happy knob day!

I tried my COMAND knob and the steering wheel buttons. They are equally fast in volume control.

you say they don't care if you blow ure ear drums i think they do b/c look at what they do with the a/c and blower rec. button... ever notice when you press it for cab air after a while it always defaults back to fresh outside air... b/c they don't want you to suffocate and die by smelling your same farts!!!!!!

I've had 2 other C300s in the last 2 years that didn't do this, neither does my brother's ML350. It is probably the same fault as the control knob breaking, except that this is slipping. The button is very inconsistent at raising volume and probably takes more than 10 full turns to get to max volume if you do it fast.
