Hello guys,

Does anyone here know how to program the ECU/change some exhaust parts such that the car can pop and crackle on downshifts? I know it has something to do with the AF mixture running rich, similar to those naturally aspirated Mustangs that crackle when letting of the throttle...

i did a 2nd cat delete and muffler delete. Once I rev it makes a sexy *** pop

haha nice! how loud is it? I'm thinking of going for a X-pipe but i heard to really get the crackles like the c63 you would have to tune it to run richer right?

I have an xpipe inplace of the 2nd cats. If you follow what I told you, I gaurentee you will not regret it. I may put a valve for straight pipe

it’s not rice loud like those gunshots but more like a deep pop

I am the opposite. If I had a sport exhaust crackling and popping I'd do everything I could do to stop making it sound so bad.

Luckily, I bought a high quality cat-back sport exhaust that does not snap crackle and pop like a bowl of rice crispies.

No crackles?! Yea I want it to crackle/pop as much as possible haha :P drove my friends new c450 and that thing pops like crazy. I heard Mercedes changed the ECU to program the crackling in sport+ mode. Anyone know a tuner that can tune that into the w204 MY ECU?

Well, I'm 46 and you're probably a young'un so I am past having a loud car. My c-class was so quite I wanted a sport exhaust on there however..

Back in my younger daze when I was around 25, I had a sweet Porsche 944 with an ECU tune or chip is all you did back then an a few other extras. I put on a nice Borla SS exhaust and deleted the resonator and added a stainless header. It sounded nice and rumbly.

haha Porsche’s are loud. I’m searching for a tuner who can make my car sound rumbly with crackles just like the AMG :P

Wanted to put in place of resonator, felt ballsy and put in place of 2nd cats, I think it sounds pretty good.

Thats what I'm thinking to do as well! Did u fabricate the X-pipe through a machine shop or did u buy one, like the Magnaflow X-pipe? Will this void the warranty? Im thinking X-pipe plus ECU tune should really bring out the crackles :P

My 2014 C300 crackle on start up. That's it. lol

The vehicle that does it best is a Porsche Cayman with flat 6 engine (981) with sport exhaust. It does it on command.

Yea Porsches make great crackles like the new 911 and Cayman. Hopefully Cayman will be my next car :P

You need turbos to make it pop like new amg’s, m’s and rs’s. w204 c63 doesnt pop at all because the engine is atmosphere but w205 even c300 u can hear it pop because it has turbo. I’ve seen tuned poping honda accord tho😂

No, turbos actually muffle the sound. The reason it crackles is the tune in turbo cars; they run richer in order to minimize turbo lag. It’s the rich air fuel mixture that creates fuel accumulated in the exhaust that creates the crackles. The c63 w204 crackles so much :O just like those 5.0 GT Mustangs and the GT350R Mustang

You can always go for a muffler delete :P doesn’t void warranty because it’s cat back but loud af. Only downside is the drone...
