Gas Pedal Q

I posted this in the coupe forum but figured the part is the same between the two. My pedal was squeaking so I pulled it and disassembled it and regreased it and it seems good to go now. With everything back together the car drives fine and it all works, no warnings or anything but I’m noticing a slight hesitation on the engine revs. It feels like when I quickly get on the gas there’s a split second delay and then the engine revs. It’s not huge but I don’t know if it was there before or not. Do you notice this in your cars or did I mess something up. The sensor is super simple with almost no moving parts though.

These cars have super laggy throttle response, pretty laughable and even dangerous at times. You most likely didn't notice the lag before and after messing with the pedal, you put more focus on throttle response and now realized how laggy these cars are.

First thing I ever got for my c300 is a spring booster to fix this horrible throttle lag. You can go to your dealer and ask for the latest TCU update which helps a little but not much in my opinion, this made it 4/10 responsive out of 1/10 when it was stock.. The sprint booster is a must for these cars to get a 10/10 throttle response feeling but some people just cruise and like the soft and "smooth" power transition, personally I think only old people that drive 10 under the speed limit are the only people that wouldn't be bother be the throttle lag.

That's kind of what I was thinking. The sensor doesn't really have any moving parts other than the drum and it's a very simple setup so I can't imagine what would have gone wrong. What's this booster you're talking about? I'm very intrigued.

No, it's an electrical sensor basically, if you were to damage it, it would likely just not work at all.

^This is the sprint booster, all you do is plug in in series with the pedal connection and you have yourself 9 throttle settings, 9 being the most aggressive one which is what I keep it on and hide the wires all behind the carpet so you can't even tell its there. Sometime I turn it off and see how stock use to be and its laughable and unimaginable how I drove the car for 6 months without the sprint booster.

You can also get a tune from Eurocharge example, they are able to optimize and enhance the throttle respond, although I never had one, people just say that the tune helps with throttle response. How much better compared to the sprint boost I cant say but the tune is 3x the cost so I jsut went with a sprint booster.

I also heard good things from people have both the spring booster and a tune, that combo must be the best but unless i can get a good deal on a tune, I dont see it worth 1200$ for 15-20 extra hp.

I actually googled it after I posted the message. Hmmm, very tempting. I love my car but even as a 350 it could use a bit more juice and response but I don't know if I want to spend that much money. Thanks for the help!
