Exclamation Mercedes Benz "T" Grille Stay question
My grille stay is broken so I went to MB to get a new one.

I noticed that there are notches on the new grill stay exactly where the old one broke. Why would MB design the grille stay with an obvious weak point? Thoughts?

Maybe if you run into something or hit a big bird at speed, that thing will break instead of the grille? So that the grille can move inwards I mean.

I've never ever run into an issue, although to be blunt I did break this T once and that was my fault (being a lazy a**).

Its the crumple zone. lol

Is there an online place that sells parts like these for cheap. I have a few parts that needs replacing that has the same broken plastic parts. :-/

That grille stay was only $9 from the mb dealer. I checked around first.

The best places for me to find mb parts are Amazon, Ebay or AutohausAZ (nice oem part number search). Just compare prices. (Ebay always comes through)

I also use mbpartsworld to look up part numbers and see actual mb diagrams for my car.
