Daughter's C300

My daughter's 2010 C300 had an issue with an error message saying the ABS, ESP, ESC, Power steering inoperable (or something similar to that---and I know the ESP and ESC are virtually if not completely the same things) and her cruise control woouldn't.

I had her and a friend change out the stop light switch and now she has an error "ESC inoperable See Owner's Manual". I told her to look to see if her ESC button has been pressed (or manually disabled---however that works---to look in her manual if need be).

She'll do that when she gets a chance to get to her car, but any other thoughts in the mean time?

She took it to an Indy and he ordered a stop light switch. For about $200 the problem is no more. He said the one she had gotten was a generic and though it got rid of some of the issues, 'The Real Thing' cleared up the problem completely

If you don't mind me asking, what is a stop light switch? My uncles c350 is having the same issue, and I was hoping maybe I could foreword some info to him.

I don't mind at all. You can search this forum for more complete info than I can offer, but basically its a little switch on the brake pedal lever that triggers the stop/brake light(s) to come on. I'm on my phone or I'd send you a link...again search the forum and you will fine more and better info
