Traded in my car yesterday

I definitely would have considered a c350 4matic coupe, I love the w204 coupe seats. The 4matic and a tune on that would make it a helluva car.
Both really big upgrades from a c250. Which also reminds me, the 12+ mustangs are pretty capable in winter driving if you get winter tires.

My W204 spent so much time in the service department I feel like I owned a W205 given all the the loaners. I think it was around 4-5 months total.
A new car can be like a new girlfriend. After a while you realize the new one is a little crazy and you miss the old one.

It's my first muscle type car. Wile it is more refined than I expected the driving experience is more of a "treat it gently" vs. driving it hard turbo approach.

Regarding MB's intuitiveness, I just love their cruise control system because it is the easiest one on the market and it's been there since the 80s I think. I cannot believe that other manufacturers did not simplify it to MB's level yet. Is this an MB patent or something?

The only feature I'd really really miss would be brake hold. It would be difficult to let that one go. Cruise control is great but not a must. The mustang is a fun car and you will defiantly enjoy it.

Tell me about it! My car is Euro spec so I also have the speed limiter feature which is enabled by pushing the stalk inside. Sooo much functionality with a simple stalk! All hail MB.

Congrats on the new car! Sucks that your W204 wasn't more reliable. If you don't mind me asking, were you the original owner?

2014 Mercedes C350 Coupe
I found the W204 facelift very reliable. I have a 2014 C350 and its at 62,000 km and so far there hasn't been any problems except for some blown light bulbs. Knock on wood :P

Thanks, I did expect a jab or two. I think people judge them on past model versions. The changes on the 2018 model are nice as well. I was surprised myself when I started looking. It has a combination of the better materials and fit you find in the W205 with more the rugged sporty style we have in the W204. I think the car's designers have had a heavy European influence.
I got a little tired of some of the outdated tech on the Mercedes side unless you spend a small fortune.
What I miss so far is:
* Turning radius
* Simplicity of the cruse control
* Brake hold
But 460 HP and crazy fast/smooth 10 speed transmission make up for it.

So I started looking at the 2018 redesign because of this thread...and by god you made the right move. V8, magnetic suspension and the 10-speed got me. It even has dual injection system for some of the DI haters here Not only that, imagine the aftermarket support. This is the first Mustang I'm actually drooling over.

BMW does too but I believe you have to activate a switch. I tried it on an X5 but it creaked and slipped forward.

Ford basically gave this year's 5.0 an upgrade to 460HP from the factory so there haven't been many aftermarket upgrades yet from what I can tell. But in time I think it could do 475-520 with a 91+ octane .

2010 C300 4MATIC........ 2011 C63 AMG.............. 2015 CLS400 4MATIC.....
You're definitely gonna have a lot more fun it that car for sure lol, nice photos!
VW CC has the hill assist with a little switch.
When I got my car one of the contenders was a 2013 mustang. Still a great option tbh, I really like 2013+.

Parting shot :'(
For some reason yesterday I spontaneously traded in for a relatively loaded 2018 Mustang GT Premium pack. I have to say the engineers on this car/ mode year l have done an amazing job. Out of most of the cars on the market it seems to have captured much of what I liked about the w204 while modernizing it at the same time. The W205 never captured me, especially at the price point for modern features.
There are little touches though I miss, such as the brake hold, simplicity of the cruse control and premium quality of the owners manual. But OMG, the 460 HP, instantaneous shifting 10 speed trans, usable backup camera and not out of date navigation system make up for it.
I find myself still mashing down on the brake pedal to engage that hold though or wondering why cruise control requires more than one step to activate.

Nice, you should put up some photos of the 335i M!
I was considering BMW or Mercedes again as well. But specing out one new ones that would make me happy just got insanely expensive. Also, the newer Mercedes don't really call to me unless it's an $80K+ build.
I wanted to get the latest tech this time around (smart key, adaptive cruise, lane assist, smart lighting, digital instrument cluster, etc.). That is hard to pull off with pre-owned, especially the digital cluster as those are hard to find even new.
I thought Ford's Sync 3 would be better than Mercedes Comand but they aren't that far off from each other. I kind of hate them both, lol. But that's probably because I'm in technology and UX design. I find myself constantly getting irritated or disappointed in how things get implemented.

The old girl. Soon I'll be back in a Benz for the relaxing ride alone.
Maximus. 2015 335i M Sport. Wife's new daily driver.
The interior has more room then the 11' C300. But I'm sure the 2015 has grown as well.
The newer car (background). As you can see I brought my wife over to the dark side' but we'll be back.
^^^^ Here's few^^^^ Still kinda missing the C300. The transmission and V6 were very solid and we had no issues from 18,500 to 97,500 miles. She never missed a beat. We always go CPO 2 to 3 years old and were eyeing the W212 chassis for a while. The 2014/15 E350 sport still looks fantastic, but my wife fell in love with the 335 with all the bells and whistles (nav, pdc, etc.) and the color. She also talked about her 74' 2002 BMW a lot so I think she secretly was ready to switch back. My daily is 13 years old now so I'm still considering something newer. You just cannot beat the value for a fully optioned pre owned (as long as they are not beat on).
P.s, was in South Florida over the weekend and saw the same model as you're car next to us at a stop light, the exhaust note on your car is sublime.

Nice pair of cars there! You're lucky your wife has good taste in cars.
Another drawback to the Mustang after the C-Class is when trying to park I feel like I'm in an F350 Dually. Despite being a coupe it does not like to go into compact spots.
