EPC stands for electronic parts catalog. Basically enter your vin and see part no. and diagrams for your entire vehicle. It also can generate a datacard (vin decode).

Thank you for providing the datacard information. I'm curious about the accident you described, as there is nothing on the Carfax or on the title (salvage, rebuilt, etc.). I've examined the car, including the underside, looking for any evidence of damage or repairs, and can't find anything out of order. Where was the accident information located?

Well that's interesting. The car has resided in Hawaii its whole life, and the dealer delivery date to the customer was three days before the air bag failure date in California. Probably a wrong digit on the NHTSA database. It does have an airbag recall issue, which the dealer is supposed to fix this month.

When I went to look at the car before buying it, I realized the owner (who originally purchased it from the dealer) is related to me, a cousin via marriage. She gave me all of her receipts, including the original bill of sale. It currently has less than 34K miles, with replacements of the starter battery, AC compressor, and motor mounts at various times, all done by the dealer.

But I thought the whole point of having EPC access is to get the exact part number so for us DIYers we know the exact part to buy.
