Greetings. I've had problems with my left side-marker bulb randomly shutting off in the past, but 99% of the time it's on. Recently a car swiped me in a parking lot and broke the marker housing and the light shut off. I thought this would be a good time to replace the bulb with a LED. When I got in there, I could see a lot of electrical tape around the wires leading to the bulb housing, which seemed odd and like the previous owner may have done some work. He did in face swap the OEM orange covers for clear, but that was it to my knowledge. After the new bulb was not lighting, I sprayed electrical cleaner in the housing. Nothing. Next I unwrapped the electrical tape and found a basic wire splice connector. One end had been severed from the splice connector and no longer making contact. I removed the splice connector, cut back some of the wire sheath and reconnected the wires as they had been. The light worked! But now it's running hot apparently and not shutting off at all. I'm at a loss on what to do next to resolve this matter. Any suggestions? Thank you.
