Door Handle Lock Sensitivity
Odd thing, the ability to lock/unlock my doors by touching the door handle (e.g. "Keyless Go") is declining ... used to be you barely touched the handle and it immediately locked (or unlocked) ... now it's so unresponsive I've quit using the feature and just press the button on the key to be sure the car is locked. All four doors are affected the same way.
Only thing I can think of is the batteries in the keys are now 4.5 years old ... do they wear out in this timeframe and is this what happens when they get old?

Yes, thanks. One key works perfectly now with a new battery, the other has same symptoms ... buttons on the key work, but no response from touching the door handles.
BTW, the key remote on my 2006 Honda still works like new on the original battery. Same for my wife's 2011. We had a couple Lexus with remote keys over the years, so this is a small sample but still the first time I've ever had a remote key stop working due to a battery expiring.

The MB's keyfob seems to like batteries... Changed my twice already in one remote. My 5-year-old Toyota truck has the original. Not a big deal... Guess its just part of owning an MB.
