rear differential bearing sizes for 2010 C250 4matic

I need to replace a failed bearing(s) in the rear differential of my 2010 C250 4matic. The only replacement kits I was able to find online were for 2009 E350 4matic and 2010 GLK 350 4matic. Does anybody know what bearing sizes or replacement kits will fit my wounded stallion?

Post your VIN and I'll see if the diffs are cross compatible between those models. Chances are they all use the same Timkin bearings.

Yeah, 2010 "GLK300 4matic" or "GLK350 4matic" will fit perfectly for sure..

The rear differential bearings seem to cost as much as a used diff. I don't see a point (in my case) of rebuilding then.

Both circa $230. Thoughts?

A used diff may have some failing bearings in it too.

Why would yours be failing? It's not a common issue as far as I know.

Mine might be because I mighta smashed it a bit last winter...

Just check online. Many complained about the very same problem with the diffs produced between 2008-2011 due to quality issues with the bearings.

these bearings are the same with "W211 E350 4-matic" & "W207 E350 4-matic",,

What noise did you hear / how did you identify broken bearing and did it affect driveability?

It begins to howl when you get past 50mph. My first thought was that the problem was with the rear wheel bearing, but my mechanic had it checked with the stethoscope while the car was running on the lift and found the culprit.
It generates high pitch sound and super annoying but doesn’t impact drivability.

We finally opened the diff and this is what the faulty bearing looks like.

That's all it takes huh?

Did you have any fragments in the oil?

How difficult was it to remove the diff/take it apart?

It is dead, just compare it to the one at the bottom of the picture. My mechanic said he had to work hard to get to the bearings.

True. However my diff oil (when changed) had no shavings whatsoever...

perhaps something is out of balance...

2011 W207 e350
W207 differential

Does anyone know if the differentials on the e350 coupe change? Gear ratio? Mounting? CV axels? I found a 2010 and also a 2012 but my vehicle is a 2011, can someone please guide the right direction with this?

Hey guys, can i ask what rear differential can i put into my c250 cdi 4matic 2010. I see that with my VIN i should put 1:2.47, but currently i am with some rear diff from w203 model. According to the model i should put diff with nunber A2043501014, but currently i am with A2033510605. I think to buy used one, but should i search for diffs only from 4matic or i can put and other ones.
Here is my VIN: WDD2042821F612921
Thanks for your help in advance.
