I am not sure because I haven't gotten it working yet, but I had to re-wire the control chip. Someone told me the paddle shifter should work if you wired it up correctly.

Besides the red paddle covers, where did you get the silver ones? And did you remove your steering wheel and drill the holes to install the paddles just like in another forum post here? I know that for 2012+ (Facelift) the paddles are plug and play. Thanks.

I got the AMG paddles part number from EPC using an AMG VIN and order it online from one of the MB Parts sites. I did the exact procedure you saw except there is no need to drill, you can use a soldering iron to melt a hole in the black stuff. Is been like 2 years with no issues and yes they were plug and play.

It's much more complicated on the pre-facelift model because not only do codes have to be added but also the transmission has to be SCN-coded. Anyone can add option codes with a genuine or bootleg coding interface but SCN-coding has to be done through Xentry with a valid subscription. The dealer I went to added all the codes for me but couldn't SCN-code my transmission because it kept saying there was an error. The procedure came straight from MB USA who approved my request. Currently I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer who is waiting to hear back from MB USA as to what the issue is preventing the SCN-coding of the transmission.

Can you please shed some more light on this with details and maybe a picture or two? I don't want to do any unnecessary work if this shop does not know what they are talking about.
Thanks a lot.

There may be preexisting holes through the aluminum structure of the facelift steering wheel. This is not the case on the prefacelift steering wheel, you have to definitely drill in addition to removing some of the vinyl/foam.
