"Recommended Fixes" for 2009 C300
I took my 2009 C300 in to have the recalled airbags replaced and while at the shop the advisor explained that they were going to perform a "courtesy" multipoint inspection. Today, I was sent a link where I could see and approve any recommended fixes. I came on here to ask for your opinion, which are worth the dealership fixing and which are better off done in the garage at home? (Im moderately handy)
Thanks guys!

None of those are hard on that car if you are mechanically inclined, and you can save a TON of money doing it yourself.
All the "fuel system cleanings" are garbage. Check the vacuum pump for leaks, it may just be the gasket, or the pump itself. 50/50 chance there.
As far as the trans service, coolant, P/S fluid (which has no interval as per MB btw), have you done your services? Those are all maintenance things based on time/mileage.

Your vehicle probably needs nothing but the air bag. They are bringing in your car for a free repair and trying to make some money.
Thats also why the inspection was free.

It should be a crime to charge those amounts.
Sway bar links are under $100 for a pair and takes literally 15 minutes to replace both sides. It’s literslly two screws on both sides.
Over 2 grand for transmission and engine mounts?! Are they also delivering your newborn? Holy ****.

I would say bring it to a local shop or a friend to check the car out. Keep in mind these things are just "recommendation". Some of these things you can check yourself like the steering wheel fluid, open the hood and check yourself. The coolant flush is something that should be done 3-5 years. Some of these things are also in your manual. Seeing when the last time it has been done will really help you, if you own the car over 5 years and never done it, its time.

Well, one could be handy/rich or whatnot, but I would counter that and say if one owns a MB, one needs to be knowledgeable. Perusing and posting/reading forums like MBW is key to not getting hosed by the dealer. Dealerships prey on the ignorant, and those of us who take the time to learn = dealers can't pray on us.
