Replace axel bolts wth bearing replacement?
i am replacing the front wheel bearings on a 2013 C300 sport 4-matic. First does anyone know the torque for the axel bolts. A friend quoted me 290 ft-lbs. he also said they were a single use component because of the stretch from the high torque. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks

I reused mine and torqued it using an air impact gun. I applied some blue thread locker. 70 000km later, the bolt hasn't fallen off and I drive aggressively,having driven the car well over 100mph several times.
It's up to you, change it and torque it properly if you want piece of mind but this isn't a head gasket that requires perfect torque specs. I didn't engineer it but I don't trust half the things Mercedes engineers recommend, they just do so for maximum profit. They love the "one time use" parts so they can maximize sales.
