Headlight brace issue

So my left headlight seemed messed up as far as where it was aimed and I opened it up to take a look. I noticed the little “socket” the headlight bulb goes into wasn’t stuck in the housing it self but I can’t seem to get it back in. Is there a trick for it? It has 3 little tabs that need to be lined up but I tried every way to get it back in so I could get my light in and no luck with anything

Here is a pic of what I'm talking about! it goes into the headlight with 3 little tabs that need to be lined up. I'm not sure how it came out
