thinking about a TUNE!!!!

So i've been hitting the idea back and forth I'm thinking about getting a Eurocharged tune for my 2012 C300 any current members go through with it on there C300's let me know what you think about it! online the gains seem pretty good. I just don't want to mess with the reliability of the car. thats why i'm hoping some current members can talk about it.

You probably have to send your ecu in. Which I couldn't do, so, yeah. Idk if it's different for the m276. Although Canada is pretty centralized and it would probably be quicker for you.

Realistically, any tune should get you the same gains. For the DI engines I think a tune is a must, with nearly 100HP performance gain. Since it's the same engine as c350, reliability should not be compromised.

I was thinking he same thing but how come not many people do it? There's a Eurocharged in Toronto I was going to just call and book a time and see if they could do it on the spot that's why there my number one option.

If my C300 preformed like a C350 that would be amazing. The lag is virtually gone with variant coding but it could use more HP AND TORQUE!

1) Cost
2) Downtime
3) they think pedal Commander is a good mod
(Sorry boys)

Also, look around for their promos. I got my tune $400 off. Even the ones in the c63 section offers apply.

What tune did you go with? It's up there in price but isn't it worth it? Making a C300 have the power of a C350? I don't know I'm stuck in the one. It's like $1200 but maybe they would give a decent discount

Alfadude 02-05-2019 03:36 PM

I'm thinking of a tune as well. For some reason earlier today the song Jim Dandy to the Rescue by Black Oak Arkansas popped in my head and now it won't leave. Is driving me crazy................

Adi-Benz 02-05-2019 04:15 PM

So the Eurocharged Canada website may be different.

Prefacelift M272 engines are like $600 USD, the facelift M276's are over $1k. But prefacelift you only get 20hp, the facelift ends up getting like 90hp (about 330 on 91 gas) so that's the price diff.

I don't think they have variations of tunes for our cars, should be one per each.

Even for $200 I returned the tune cause I daily drive my car and couldn't lose the time. It was a STEAL for the price, but I had it for a year before I even tried it so it wasn't extremely high priority.

Plus, there's no rush to tune in the winter anyways.

EDIT- well i guess theres much more options for the 3.5L, us 3L guys won't get up to the C350 level, i might be wrong??????

Adi-Benz 02-05-2019 04:59 PM

That's weird. Check this

https://www.eurocharged.com/products...-software-2012

Canucks arent good at tuning? hahha

Adi-Benz 02-05-2019 05:01 PM

Oh. I thought you had the 3.5.

Top tune is 3.0, bottom is 3.5 c300.

Still the 3.5 tune is weird for the canadians

MB Marko 02-05-2019 05:09 PM

i don't even know wtf i have anymore lol

lol ya this is weird and my engine is 3.0L DOHC 24-valve V6 engine going off the VIN decoder tool, so some 2012 C300's had 3.5L?????? im confused lol!!!!!

Alfadude 02-05-2019 05:44 PM

The 3.5 liters first were installed in the C300s starting in 2013. Before that they were all 3.0 liter engines. If you check with Eurocharged I would bet their claims of 280+ for the 3.0 liter are a mistake on the site. If not, they better have proof. I think generally the tunes for the 3.0 228HP engine add about 20HP. Before you buy triple check what you are getting for the money.

Ya no wonder not many people tune the 3L c300s ! It's confusing and not much info or detailed reviews.

Adi-Benz 02-05-2019 05:47 PM

Mid 2012 - 2014 has the 3.5. 285hp is a weak tune for the 3.5. it should be 330, as the C350 makes 305 with the same engine.

3.0 liter only can make about 250 max with tune. Prefacelift C350 numbers almost.

Hahah probably late for this but you have the M272, I remember doing the throttle mod to it. M276 doesn't have the same options

Hahaha ya I figured it out, I was hoping you'd chime in. What tune would you recommend if any?

Can you please expand on this "variant coding"? Done via Xentry? What are the gains/advantages?

Ahhhh, when you said Funkwagen, I remembered reading that thread before. It was pretty long I remember. I'll go through it again to refresh my memory. Thanks.
