Can't do better than Mercedes Stock brakes. Just my opinion.
Maybe a complete Stop Tech Big Brake kit $$$$. I have no experience. |

Porterfield RS4 pads have great initial bite even cold, not very "dirty" and very progressive feel. agree the stock MB pads are very good also but IMHO these aftermarket pads have less fade under heavy braking besides better cold bite.

I find the Zimmermann rotors and the Akebono-Euro Ceramic Pads to be better than the Mercedes pads. The Akebono have less fade due to high speed braking. The last time I did my brakes I went with the Mercedes and got less than 30K miles from them. The Akebono the time before that I got 45K out of the brakes and rotors. So I have gone back to the Akebono and the Zimmermann rotors.
I guess the real issue is how one drives the car and what type of traffic or roads you drive on. I use mu C300 as a daily driver and put 50 miles a day on the car. My drive is a mix of local roads and some back roads where you can do 60 miles an hour. My feeling is think about how you drive and the type of roads and if you want to do your brakes every 30K or every 45K. Nelson |
Akebono has all the characteristics of OEM but stop better. They're the best I've found for the money. No dust at all, no squeaks and better performance for about $65.

Loads of choices. I like EBC Green and run those on my Porsche. Here's another product I'm considering for next pad change ... https://www.epicfriction.com/index.p...edes-c350.html
BTW, Porsche just came out with a 'surface-coated' rotor that they claim reduces dusting by 90% (and the reduction comes from the rotors btw, not the pads!). If this is for real, could be a very popular offering in the aftermarket in coming years ... https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a1...coated-brakes/ |
