conti dws06 tires
 

Anyone got any experience with the conti dws06 tires, I juts ordered a set from tire rack. This will be my first All season high performance tire, I live in the Seattle area and we get a lot rain, so I figured this was the right decision.
I used to run only Summer tires, so the switch will be different!!!

Contrary to common belief, summer tires are very effective at handling rain and wet conditions. It's when the temperatures dip below 7C that the rubber compound of summer tires becomes too hard to provide any grip. If you only have rain Seattle and no snow and no temperatures below 7C during winter, the summer tires are not a bad option at all for you.

As above , summer tyres have great wet capability due to epic rain channels .

Seattle has plenty of cold, wet weather in which summer tires are most definitely not the right choice.

The DWS06 is a great tire. No complaints at all on a couple of cars I've used them on.

They sure made me a believer in them over the past year and a half. Plan to run them from now on as they handle the light snow my way as well as the rain.

They have been so good on my W204 C300
That I'm planning to replace my W205 C63S
With the same tires .

I have these as well and think they are a great all season tire. I would think you will be more than satisfied with the overall performance when the gray dreary days of a Seattle winter show up. They will last longer as well and might be less expensive than what you have now.

Well the owner before me put a tire on the car called Ironman, turns out it’s like the cheapest tire you can buy lol
Now it was time to upgrade, specially in the PNW a good all season is the way to go.

I have to take that back, definitely not as cheap as Ironman tires. Can't say I have ever heard of those before.

Have you been farly satisfied with those Ironman tires up until now? How have they been as far as noise?

the Ironman is not even a noisemaking tire, but really sucks in the rain and for 40$ a tired what can you really expect.
The owner before me commuted a few times between Seattle and Los Angeles no wonder he got a cheaper tire right!!!This is the first time I actually invested in a more expensive tire.

dont get me wrong but where is the water going to go after it is in the rain channel?
wouldnt this cause hydroplaning because the water can’t escape.

The rain channels are the escape route for the water, it doesn't need to go anywhere else.

I have had good luck with the DW06. Nice tire and good balance with all season capability. If you have staggered wheels they will not last as long (true of all tires)

yeah I got 225/45/17 and 245/40/17

I had them and swore by them until I got my Michelin's. They handle better and so far the wear is better on them. Over all the Conti's lasted a while but the side wall roll feel was a deal breaker for me, happy I moved on.

How was the handling in dry condition like in the summer time?, also I heard that continental improved the sidewalls?

In dry conditions they were great but in corners you could feel the roll if you were going to fast. Once they stared to wear weird they got really loud.

They did well in rain, snow, summer and lasted pretty long with the staggered set up.

Performance wise the Michelin's hands down have been better in the handling aspect. I'd say better in road noise and tied in everything else.

what PSI did you run them on, I had mine installed yesterday and they put them at 39 psi after the tire get warm I’m at 41 psi.

God I think I had 41 in the rear and 36 on the fronts I can't even remember but I do recall having the 41 on the rears I'm not sure on the fronts

they seem to ride better with more in them.
ill keep my rears at 40

What do you guys think of running a 245 40 17 in the front instead the 225 45 17.
Reason I'm asking is I wanna get most out of the tires, and getting the same size all the way around seem logical but my front rime is a 7.5.So would it look weird?
