I bought a portable lithium car battery charger and the instructions say to connect it to the vehicle chassis. Almost all the YouTube videos show it connected to the neg terminal... any harm in doing this?

There's no harm, but its easy just to use the positive [yellow arrow] and the negative [green arrow] its very convenient

The concern with connecting it to the battery is it could cause any hydrogen gas fumes from the battery to ignite.. I don't think this would not matter for a sealed battery.

Technically it will work either way. I always go the bare metal and I find it works better anyway.

Doh.. I was a minute too late...
