2012 C300
P0016 and P0017 Intermittent

I have a 2012 C300 4-Matic Lux. I recently started throwing both a P0016 and P0017 code. The hard part to figure out is that I throw the codes when I drive on the highway, then after a day of driving city, the codes disappear. Go back on the highway and wham, back come the codes. This all started happening after my latest oil change. I thought that it might be the oil but I confirmed that the Quaker State is the European blend and meets all of the MB specs. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has an explanation of this phenomena. I has one person suggest that the camshaft position sensor could be misreading at a high speed. I am not sure exactly how these sensors interact with the computer as far as adjustments to highway speeds versus city speeds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I was you, since this happened after the oil change, remove the oil filter cap and make sure that the Mastertech at the oil change place didn’t forget to install new o-rings. I have seen this happened before. Just a suggestion.
