2008 C300 134K miles
Hi, I'm a newbie here. I'm considering purchasing 2008 C300 with 134K miles for $6400.
Visually, the car looks to be in very good condition with new tires, tint, battery, oil change, new filters, etc.
I was very close to buying 2012 Audi A4 2.0T, except my research turned up that model engine burns quart of oil every few hundred miles.
I've looked at 4 other 2008-2010 C300, and I was very impressed with engine bay having no oil leak, and interior not showing much wear (like Toyotas do).
As far as I can tell this model's engine and transmission seems solid, but could have nagging electrical and steering lock issues.
Any advise on whether I should buy a German car with this mileage, and if I do, what could be some common failures I can expect on this car?
I've changed the ignition key steering lock for VW Jetta last year, is C300 ESL something that is DIY?
Thanks in advance

I'm not so concerned with the mileage if it was well maintained - i.e. no error codes, smooth drive, all fluids changed etc.
My concern is the 2008 model - have a heard of some issues on this forum
I got a 2014 C300 with 120k miles - very well maintained. No issues except I had to service my transfer case for about 1000$. Not so bad for the mileage, but it is a 2014 aka last model year of the W204, so all the issues got ironed out.

2010 C300 4MATIC........ 2011 C63 AMG.............. 2015 CLS400 4MATIC.....
$3000-4000? The lowest they go here is 8....
ESL is diyable, I did it and wasn't too hard, but it can leave you stranded. Mine died in driveway so easy.

2014 C300 Sport 4Matic - 196,000km
2nd owner, bought for 12k (Canadian) last September @ 193,000km
-Planetary gear replaced in transfer case
-Blower motor replaced
Both repairs were done for ~1040$ total at the dealer
-Oil changed every year (I don't put much mileage)
-ATF never changed

I have a 2008 with $113k miles. Parts are expensive on these cars compared to Japanese brands. An unexpected repair can easily be $1k or higher. Make sure you have the cash to cover a big bill as things will need to be replaced or addressed at that mileage.
