Ignition / cranking issue
Step 1: After inserting the key I can hear ESL unlocking sound as usual ✅
Step 2: I can turn the key to next position on right side, All lights and dashboard needles works as usual. ✅
Step 3: Further, I can start the car - cranking normally by turning the key to last most position, everything is normal ✅
Step 4: I can turn off the car by moving back to first position as usual and the car turns off normally (and consider I am keeping the key inside the holder) ✅
Now comes the issue:
If I try starting again by doing exactly as the step 3 mentioned above, the car does not crank ❌
But it works perfectly if I remove the key and insert again and try starting (step 1 to 3) ✅
What may be possible cause? Is it the well known ESL issue or is it the EIS malfunctioning?
I am planning a service centre visit tomorrow, but thought about checking here for any useful information and help. Thank you so much

I noticed this since the 1st service after they replaced the CPS sensor according to factory request under gurantee.
>Every now and then, always after I driven more than 20Km's and park, like at a harbour and watched the scenes.
>With the key not removed, it would crank endlessly and not start.
>>If I remove the key, and re-insert it starts.
>>>I also observed that this car never starts predictable at say 3 turns or whatever turns, like all the other vehicles I had or own.
Note:When they replaced the ESL, they 1st replaced the EIS which did not solve that problem, so it was the ESL.
Neither of these solved my interstarting problem...I have not noticed it for a long time now...The new battery neither.
I live with this one....(I presume over engineering, and if the dealer could not find the fault in 6 years, how would I)
