Rear Door Lock
I started a new thread because although I replied to an existing one I now face a new problem.
Initially had the rear door lock stuck in closed and couldn't open the door at all. Removed the door card, removed metal plate with rivets and broke part of the plastic casing off from the lock actuator. I was then able to pry up something in the actuator and the door magically opened from the handle. Rather than repair because the door locking pin would not even move up or down I just replaced the door lock actuator.
But now I fitted the replacement door lock actuator, stupidly I closed the door and now the door doesn't open again via the exterior or interior handle. I checked the actuator and connecting it before closing the door but just not fitted into the door.
Can someone please help me
The actuator seems to function, the locking pin is going up and down, when pulling the handle both interior and exterior the cable is being pulled. I can also hear the mehanism working when i press the remote key unlock button whereas this did not happen on the previous one i had.
I'm wondering if this is now an electrical or anti theft issue. I disconnected the battery for about 15 mins thinking the door control unit will reset and the door will open but it didn't. If anyone has experienced this or can help I would really appreciate. I've ordered an icarsoft merecedes diagnostic tool hoping that might give some indication.
