Can't unplug tail light harness after installing new led tail lights

The harness that came with the car can't be unplugged from the new led taill lights... pressing the tab on both sides doesn't work. Any ideas?

I've never looked at the taillight harness, but just in general, sometimes connectors get stuck and a little extra force is needed. Can you hold the tabs on both sides with one hand, and then use the other hand to use a small flat-head screwdriver to gently try to pry the connector off?
