C300 2013 seat belt does not release

Hello All,

Please Advise. The attached picture tells it all. Had to carry a piece of oversized furniture. The only option was to place in on front passenger seat and use the seat belt to secure it. Now the seat belt does not release. Although I can feed it back about 1 to 1.5 cm of belt, it does not release. Is there any trick to release the seat belt (short of cutting the end table leg)? Thanks in advance.

If the belt has been fully extended, it will only release after it is fully retracted.
Have you tried this?
From the picture, it looks like you may be able to lay your driver seat flat like the passenger seat. Turn the table so legs point toward the passenger doors. The slide the table onto the drivers seat, which may give enough room to slip off the seat belt.
The seat belt can be released if you can get to the take up reel. The ratchet pawl can be lifted releasing the belt. But it requires removing whatever cover panels the reel is behind. This is the process for freeing a rear seat which was lowered with the seat belt latched.

I don't believe I initially fully extended the seat belt, but if I did so, it sounds like it is hopeless.
Thanks for the suggestion but it is impossible to rotate the table, since its legs hit the headliner and also seat belt is tight, leaving not much wiggle room.
I can insert a flexible plastic tube or steel tape measure into the center pillar that seat belt retracts into. I wonder if anyone has some drawstrings of the seat belt mechanism to see if there is a way release it?

By the way, I tested the drive side seat belt. I extended it to its maximum , then I managed to make it lock. However it releases itself after feeding back the bet by even 1 cm or less. So certainly extending the belt to it maximum length has not caused this issue. There is problem with the seat belt itself. Again if anyone has any ideas, please share. It is very frustrating.

At about 11 minutes in, this video shows how to get access to the front passenger lower anchor point. It may be what you need to get the belt free.

It’s a 2013, but still a W204 so it should be very similar.

Thank you very much for the link. I tried searching the internet but I did not come across this link. Much appreciated.
