Questions about 2014 C300
Hello!
I am looking at buying my first Mercedes and I have some questions. I have my eye on either a 2014 C250 or C300. All of the cars I'm looking at have less than 40k miles. That said I'm curious if there is anything I should specifically look out for when buying these cars? Also, what should I expect in terms of maintenance (cost/frequent failures) both now and as the car ages? I live in a city and generally don't drive much but I'd like a nice car that isn't too difficult to maintain. I considered a lexus/ acura due to the high reliability but I really like the mercs a fair bit more!

Some C250 cars have a camshaft adjuster that fails without warning at 75-100,000 miles. Mercedes has a 10 year 110,000 mile warranty on that part that starts on the date the car was first purchased. So depending on when the car was bought new, there are only 6-18 months coverage remaining.
A C300 4matic has front drive components that could need maintenance when the car gets over 100,000 miles. A rear wheel drive model will not have that issue.
It’s a good idea to consider a warranty on any used Mercedes, because no matter how reliable, dealer service is quite expensive.
