Bought a C220 - few issues, ambient temp sensor, day running lights missing
SubscribeHello,
as the title suggests, I’ve recently purchased a 2014 (pre facelift) c220 CDI automatic and it has a few issues.
it was previously a cat S car, so had a crash affecting the front bumper. The car runs perfectly, though it is a little loud at idle, but that’s just diesel engines for you.
things I have noticed are the ambient temp sensor and the lower radiator support bracket that holds this is missing, and I cannot find the plug for the sensor.
it is the same case for the day running lights, there is no plug visible to plug them in, though they are attached to the bumper.
Aside from these things I notice that it does not stop start with the eco mode enabled (though I think this may resolve itself when ambient temp sensor is plugged in)
and the brake hold does not work.
Ideally I am asking for advice on these issues and if anyone can help me locate the loom/plugs for ambient temp sensor and the DRlights.
thank you!

Surely the facelift came in Oct '11 ?
A 2014 should be a facelifted car ?

the licence plate is 2014, but it is early 2014, so still the same look as a 2013 model. If that makes sense?Originally Posted by alecmascot

Do you have the correct front bumper for the car ?
Can you decode the VIN and see exactly whick model/trim you have ?
Those DRL looks like they are for the AMG trim, maybe....the whole area is a minefield for me :-{{

This is the AMG edition of the c220, I haven’t tried decoding the VIN yet so that’s an idea! I’ll check out the horn loom thank you for that, I know the horn on this works so fingers crossed there’s some extra cables there. Originally Posted by alecmascot
