Just had B service done. Mechanic tells me I have serious rust in rear subframe. This a common problem. 2012 W204 C Class. 135,000 ks. Well maintained. Australia Northern Rivers NSW. Any ideas? W204 C Class 2012
Quite welcome. Are your roads subject to sandy, mud being thrown up.....or are you near the shore where salty road dirt is thrown up too ? My subframe collected mud over the years but no salt (winter road spread) so fairly superficial rust decay.
Thanks for the info on USA recall. Purchased this car used, from MB dealer, to be sure of condition. Same dealer where it was delivered new. About to contact them for any help or advice. But not confident of any response.
Conditions here are subtropical, no excess humidity or salty atmosphere.
Even so, this corrosion is crazy.
