2012 Clock Options?
Hi all.
Have been out of MBWorld for quite a bit, so pardon an ignorant question, if there are solutions around.
Has there been any way to add an analogue clock to a W204 facelift?
I did go through the wonderful post of the IWC clock on top of the dash, and it is frankly way beyond my meager capabilities, unless someone would like to sell me theirs...?
Retrofitting or modding something like the W212/207 vent/clock is what I was referring to.

Add as in take a clock from another Mercedes and install it in the W204, plug n play? I never heard of it so did a quick search around just to see what Mercedes even have this clock. I doubt the W212 clock will work since theres no room between the vents in the W204.
Best bet is to fabricate something with part # 200 below. But theres a sensor there. Wonder if another model uses a similar sized part that has the clock.
Heres Part #200 (2046802380).
Part # 100 below would be where the clock is in the W212. No room for a clock.

I just read thru that post. Im not sure what he means by buying the slk dash grill and refrabricate with the W204. Maybe he means he used the clock cover part and glued it to the W204 grill?
Seems the retrofit they talk about entails wiring it in so when you change the cars clock the analog clock also changes. Much cheaper and easier way would be just stick a battery operated clock in there, easy to remove to either change the batteries and change the time.
Seems like an easy diy if one is creative. Build off an original W204 grill so it snaps into place. Cut out the hole in the grill for the clock to fit, make the cover part for the clock (fiberglass?) then cover with fabric.
Below is a better view of the W204 grill. Fit the clock where it appears the speaker sits. You will still have the sensor at least, but probably lose the speaker.
And heres the clock from that thread.
Heres the regular slk grill. Looks like theres an opening for a speaker?
Heres what I find when looking up part# 1726802089. very limited photos, not sure if this is an oem or aftermarket?
heres a parts diagram i came across for an slk.

That is brilliant Tim!
Blessings!
I also have the front parking sensor display on that grill...so how to get around that.
But would LOVE to have it.
The clock itself is not bad at all. Both white dial and Black IWC ones on eBay are about $180-200.
