I am shopping for a post-facelift C350 and I am finding conflicting information on the forum about the introduction year of the M276 in the W204’s. Some say it’s in 2012 and others in 2013.
My understanding is that, in Canada, the M276 was introduced in 2012 for the C350 (302hp / 273 lb-ft) ONLY. In 2012, the C300 seemed to remained with the M272 (228hp / 221lb-ft).
In 2013, it seems like the M276 was introduced for the C300 models (jump to 248hp / 251lb-ft).

Sometimes I will look up vin #s on certain websites and it wont show, so I go to the next one. I use them to look up used parts. I type in "Mercedes Vin Decoder" and a list pops up.

So my understanding is my engine number is : 276 957 30 037215276
How does that translate to the service bulletin below for timing chain rattle noise? Would I fall in category 2) and should check valves be installed?
Engine 2769:
1) Up to engine number 276 9xx 30 365996 install check valves and chain tensioners
2) From engine number 276 9xx 30 365997 up to engine number 276 9xx 30 406603 (February 2013) install check valves only (optimized tensioners installed in this production range)
