1. Don't use a jump box.
2. Get a new battery.

It's not dumb. It's harder to understand your problem without punctuation. If you want help, you need to make it easy for people to understand what you are trying to communicate. I had to read your word-stream several times. Even now, I'm seeing something I missed before. If you make it hard for people to understand what you are writing, they will likely skip your posting.
When you replaced the EIS module, did you have it coded to the car? If not, the car won't start.

Not the key, the EIS module. Who replaced the module?

Then why are you coming here? A Mercedes dealer wouldn't return a non-working vehicle after a repair they made. If it doesn't start, how did you leave the dealership? Why did you leave the dealership? Have you scanned for codes?
Sorry, but none of this makes sense. You're going to have to provide some more info.

Why did you replace the EIS in the first place?

So, assuming everything else is legit, you could have a bad starter motor. Not turning over when everything else seems OK is a classic symptom of a starter motor gone bad. Hell, if the car sat for a year and a half, rodents could have built nests and chewed through wires.

OK, so this wasn't a Mercedes dealer, but a Mercedes mechanic doing some side work. So not an official job. There's a good chance that the replacement EIS (new or used?), even though cloned, my not be registered in the Mercedes database. I personally don't know if that is a thing, but @crconsulting could probably tell us.

I would test the battery, after not being used for 1.5yrs its probably bad. Either a battery tester or use a multimeter to check the battery voltage.
You can probably turn the key because it uses very low voltage to unlock it. Depending on the jump starter it may not be enough either. ive used a jump starter box fine for a week while I tracked down a new battery, just be sure to use the jump start points under the hood and not connected directly to the battery.

Might as well jump in..when the battery is low (as in 11.5-8 V or lower the ESL can "whirr" on key insertion but turning to ON or START, besides not starting, will throw ABS/ESP and sometimes a whole other array of cluster error lights. The little "made in China" ESL motor is marketed as 12 V as it should but I've made them work with 9 volts.
