hi everyone,
this is my first post using this forum, just to let you all know i am not mechanically minded and information is all i seek
so this story starts with my rear subframe, firstly i noticed the car liked to change direction under braking at the rear and after a visit to the garage found subframe was rotten, i was quite surprised
to find this as the car has low miles for its age with only 80,000 miles
so i got a new one (not genuine part)
after it was installed there was a terrible humming coming from rear which i thought was a wheel bearing, so i had both rear wheel bearings replaced c/w abs rings as they were a bit tatty and corroding.
but this didnt cure it so my mechanic friend suggested it was the differential bearings.
i found a company on ebay uk that sold bearing kits. i got in contact with them supplying both uk registration no. and the VIN. they however came back and said they cannot supply correct bearings without
the bearing numbers for each bearing.
is there any way i can find these bearing numbers for my car without taking diff apart as it will end up being off road for a while this way and i was hoping i could get it done in a day as i really need my car
as im a carer for my elderly parents.
i do have a few photos of diff with numbers on casing if that helps i can upload them

Post what you have. Ill see if I can find the correct bearing part #s.

Are you aware the issue with the rear subframe rotting is covered by Mercedes warranty?

@TimC300 thx for the reply, these are the only pics i have. if they are any use at all.
as far as warranty goes on the subframe the Mercedes dealer here in Northern Ireland said that because there was no service history with them that the subframe was not covered
