my e350 had same sound
this one also has this rather loud ticking sound coming from the engine.
i cant pinpoint the source but it sounds like a lifter noise that i hear on other cars.
or is there something else that is making that sound?
and if its fixable?
its bothering the f out of me because im ocd and cant do when engine not run smooth
and there is also another clicking valve next to driver side headlight that clicks all the time. wtf lol why is everything clicking everywhere. it drives me nuts
Behind the drivers headlight is the purge valve (circled in red) on some engines. This makes a clicking noise when it is operating, so it means it is working and nothing bad. If it wasnt ticking you would have an issue. It should start ticking shortly after starting the car.
Not sure what the other ticking noise is but it could be normal for your engine. You can always buy an inexpensive stethoscope and try to locate exactly where it is coming from.
