I would trust that the beginning of the part number matches what is on the dipstick. Do you have the one you took a picture of? You can always get the one from FCP and do a side-by-side comparison.

I thought so too. Then replacements could have been made since back in 2008 so that a newer part number ia used. I can check both sides of my dipstick to check if it has a full part number on it.
Theres two dipsticks, the one you posted for engines with a rear sump, then one for engines with a middle sump. I think the difference is between 4matic and rwd. Im guessing. Can look at the shape of the dipstick tube for which one is there.

It is the rear sump one as you mention. The dipstick handle looks the same as in that related picture. Thanks, all seems like the dipstick is correct.
