Talking Drilling Holes to Rust Protec Doors & Side Members

Yo! So I'm running out of stuff to fix on my beloved Merc. Front and rear subframe, brake lines and struts are all well coated. I'd like to move on and protect the doors, trunk and side members also. Have seen some companies actually drilling small holes (and plugging afterwards) in specific spots of doors etc and spraying some nice wax inside. Anyone done it here before I give it a go?

Cheers

Running out of stuff to fix, just wait a bit and something will pop up. I have a list of things to do to mine.

I just started applying corrosion protection on mine last fall, wish I started earlier when I first got the car. Im in New England plus im right on the coast, park my car 15' from the ocean. So far I replaced the struts, shocks, springs and tranmsission pan due to rusting.

And cant forget the more recent rear passenger brake line that crumbled apart just touching it during replacement. I highly recommend everyone inspect the brake lines if they havent already. I made a thread on how I did mine, link here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ake-lines.html

I would not start messing with spraying stuff in the doors or up into the frame/body of the car. I am sticking to exterior only. On my car at least things look really good inside, the only time ive noticed water inside the car was from the fasteners around the trunk trim and water was entering and collecting below the spare tire. I replaced all the fasteners and problem solved at least for now.

In the manual there is a procedure for cavity protection in the doors but it says if they have been replaced. I cant seem to find that specific AR97.20-P-1500CW procedure they mention. Im thinking at the factory they do all the cavity protection. They also mention coating replacement brake lines.

I could be wrong but I thought the issue with the subframe rusting is because of some type of manufacturing defect and certain ones werent properly coated?

What products are you using? I have tried 3 so far, Fluid Film, Surface Shield and CorrossionX HD. They all seem good except the CorrossionX HD is really thick stuff and probably should have tried the XD instead.

CorrossionX HD on the Transmission pan. Stuff is thick but evens out after awhile.
