E(W211,212) vs C W205
Did anyone jumped to C ? Does it really feel like E? I went to the Dealership a couple of days ago while wondering around show room i've noticed the new C which to my surprise looked as big as E. I Never looked at C-Class as my standard probably due to W203 memory.

It can't match the E class in width or length.
The car is probably 14-20 cm shorter than the E, and 4 cm in the width. But lengthwise, the E gets a larger trunk and larger bonnet. Difference in wheelbase length is 2 cm I believe, so the passenger legroom you will hardly feel the change. But three adult men will fit, but not comfortably. |
I have owned three W211's and two W212's, with the latest being a 2014 model E350. To me, the E Class has a more elegant interior than the W205
but I much prefer the W205 interior. The non-enclosed Command screen on the C takes away from the interior looks but, from a human engineering standpoint, I like the fact that it is precisely where it is the easiest to see. The overall dash layout is excellent. Starting with the seats, I believe the C is a finer car. In a short drive, in a C300, it seemed quieter and had a smoother ride. The trunk looks smaller than the E but I believe it actually holds just as much but does not seem to be quite as deep. The handling was excellent. The only thing I would miss from the E350 is that great engine. Since I want the luxury version, of the C Class, I won't be able to get the 400 but the 300 seems adequate. |
I looked up the trunk volume as shown on the MB site. They show:
E350 15.9 Cu Ft C300 17.0 Cu Ft |

I would immediately order a C400 if I could get it in Luxury and RWD.

I like the AWD. I would immediately order a C400 if I could get it in Luxury and a working 360 camera!

I am on same boat, however I can stay with E because equally equipped C will cost noticeably more. It isn't MSRP, it is just because E get deep discount close to 20%, when C can be discounted 6% currently.

If you know of a twin-turbo all-wheel-drive E-Class that cost less than a twin-turbo all-wheel-drive C-class (in the USA), please let me know where I can buy it :) |
I will PM you. More likely it will be Walnut creek dealership and after Thanksgiving. Last year they gave around $12K-$15K off MSRP. I will shop there too, so feel free to join me.
