Keyless Go

Hi new member here .I don't understand difference between KEY- LESS GO and KEY -LESS START. The former seems to be in the more premium models on the build site

ML63_AMG 09-21-2014 09:44 PM

KEYLESS GO is the option that you put the car key in your pocket and whenever you come near the car and pull the door handles the doors get unlocked (no need for you to take out the key out of your pocket) same goes for the trunk.

splunge 09-21-2014 09:56 PM

I have that on mine, but what's KEYLESS START

Keyless Start is standard for all W205 C Class sedans. Keyless Go is optional.

Keyless Start is the push button starter. Keyless go is the locking/unlocking sensors on the door handles

Merlin1 09-22-2014 06:45 AM

Accedently leave your key in boot and close, with Keyless Go the boot closes then opens a couple of inches.

megaoctane 09-22-2014 08:31 AM

Keyless GO is the full Keyless GO with keyless entry, automatic boot open/close with the locking button also, plus keyless start.

Keyless GO Start - you have to open and lock the car with the key, but when starting the car you only need to push the break and push the button.

Really? But only in the USA or also here in Europe? I didn't know that: honestly it's a useful feature!

vic viper 09-22-2014 09:51 AM

Nope, Keyless Start is an option here in Europe

I had a look. It's an option and it's available only with 7g-tronic. This is the reason why I didn't have it in my available options list (my 220 is manual).

Thanks folks!

Not in holland: no keyless start on my w205 sedan.

For those with key less go, is there an actual switch in the door handle or just touch sensor to open?

I drove a E63 a few years back and saw the switch behind the handle, not impressed.

joshg1001 09-23-2014 08:16 PM

Should be a little square sensor on the front of the handle

I think that locks it, correct?

I am wondering about the unlocking part (usually behind the handle). Unless that square sensor locks and unlocks?

abstractls 09-24-2014 10:48 AM

To unlock you just hold your hand inside the handle and it unlocks, no switch needed

Dema 09-24-2014 02:57 PM

I prefer some mechanical knob to lock/unlock. If you ever washed your car and kept a key in your pocket, car starts randomly locking unlocking, so you need either put keys away and put inside the car. Both options are crazy for me.

benzw205 09-29-2014 04:08 AM

It's not standard on all cars ?

jkyriakou 09-29-2014 12:59 PM

Don't forget you also have the KEYLESS GO with hands free access. That allows you to kick your foot under the boot (trunk) and open and close it automatically.

KEYLESS GO in Australia has that additional feature too.

Can I install keyless go my self? Is it just the door handle?

Yep, I love this feature. Didn't really work for 6 months until I got the dealer to fix it.

Can open the boot while carrying shopping, gym bag and protein shake etc.

Hi Kleinebin,

I order the Keyless Go pack, WITH handsfree access, but seems the dealer made a mistake & didn't order it... (while I paid for it of course...)
The dealer says it can't be added now in a later phase.
Whe did your dealer exactly do?
Can it be added?

tx!

Nope....
2 quick presses of the lock button on the key and it will shut off the key.
This will prevent the scenario you just described, so you can wash the exterior without multiple locks/unlocks.

It can be added. The guy in the the post below works at a Mercedes dealer and has done it.

Mine wasn't added afterwards, rather it was faulty and didn't work as effortlessly as in the video.
