Mercedes Benz C300 w205 with 20" or 19" rims

What do you all think of this?

I haven't seen a luxury w205 with 19" or 20" rims.
I KNOW they'd would look sexy as F*CK
So I photoshopped them on... they look sexy, IMO.

19's max, with proper offsets and properly sized tires. Like the OEM 19's available on the AMG Sport package, similar to the ones you've upsized in your photoshop.

See this thread if you'd like a general consensus on what "not" to do: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ball-cuts.html

+1. Came here to say exactly this, but found that the good word has already been preached. :y

^Agreed. Starts to look like a pair of RB211's mounted on the side.

Here are some real images with the Carlsson 1/10 in 20" with the Graphite finish, and the Carlsson 1/16RS in a brilliant diamond finish. The 1/16 set up is a 19 inch.
20's do look good on the car, but in honesty I think the 19 inch set up is the way to go. If you are looking at doing a monoblock 1pc full face type of wheel, then going with a 19 will not disappoint.
If you are doing a lip design, deep dish multi pc etc, then a 19 will look a bit small unless you go with a multi pc step lip design where the spokes of the center reach out into the lip, then you will still have a nice aggressive look.

I hope this info helps!

Jim:)

I would go 19's if your looking for more aggressive set up and go 20's for flush fitment.

Car looks great. I have a c250 2015 in Mexico I believe they change the model number over here anyways. I will like to get the rims rohanas rf2 on my car but everyone I talk to give me different sizes. I will like to go staggered any advices on sizes I will need
Thank you

19s are just too common, go for 20s, they compliment the design on a whole different level IMO
With the correct widths and offsets you wont have any problems and you will keep stock circumference.

My summer setup, 8.5x20ET45 and 10x20ET55

Yeah i like 20 as well But roads in Mexico suck. If I put 20 they won't last so I will have to go with 19
Thanks you

vic viper 01-24-2016 04:01 PM

Why woud 19s last longer than 20s? the difference in tire height is ever so small

Mike5215 01-24-2016 07:25 PM

20's look okay, especially with a drop, but they'll ride like crap, even more so with a drop.

They'll also look too tall and thin from the front or rear view ( which is why you usually only see them in profile pics).

When you want to determine where to stop when you Plus One or Plus Two, see where Mercedes Benz stops with their most aggressive, high performance model.

On the 205, the C63 gets 19". Be like Mercedes. Stop at 19". And leave some air in your struts. Preferably all of it.

"Be like Mercedes" , sounds like great fun, dont modify, adapt, style or tweek, just be like everyone else :D

Mike5215 01-25-2016 07:55 AM

I've done plenty of mods, including drops and full body kits. My current S 550 has an exhaust and rear S63 bumper, and about $5k worth of aftermarket audio. Nothing is necessarily sacrosanct just because it's Mercedes.

Visually a 20" looks like too much wheel on a 205 to me. A drop plus that little amount of sidewall degrades the ride. Generally, if you want your car to look like a skateboard, don't be surprised if it rides like one.

vic viper 01-25-2016 08:14 AM

Have you driven a lowered W205 with 20s?

Maybe you drove the Airmatic version with "passive" dampers? :D :D :D

No, I haven't. I also haven't placed my dick on a table and smacked it with a cactus, but I'm pretty sure that's a bad idea too.

The dampening is happening in the air spring (or not happening in your case). The shock itself is not actively dampened. Evacuating the air in an air spring is no different than removing the coils in a steel suspension. If you think the AirMatic system in your C Class has a way to magically compensate for a slam I have a nice cactus to sell you😉

Assumption based facts.

Drive one, then open mouth.

Yes. I'm assuming if you remove the air from an air spring you no longer have an air spring. Physics are a mo fo, man!

In other shocking news, if you remove the water from a fish tank you no longer have an aquarium! (Haven't tried this myself either. Just an assumption.)

vic viper 01-25-2016 09:50 AM

Still, you are basicly telling me that my own airmatic lowered vehicle with 20.s rides like sh_t and you havnt even sat in one, that is beyond interesting.

And this comes from the guy who was dead positive and tried to convince me that Airmatic vehicles didnt have Active shock absorbers :)
credibility is a mo fo.

Mike5215 01-25-2016 10:13 AM

They don't have active shock absorbers. They have active struts, and all of the activity happens in the air spring, not the shock absorber. No air, no active strut.

Are you stating that there is zero change in ride stiffness on your car, dropped and on 20's, or are you saying it is noticeably stiffer but still tolerable to you?

vic viper 01-25-2016 11:11 AM

For the 30.th time, they have active magnetic dampers (shocks), And yes, there is a strut in the front but it is nothing other than a shock absorber with an air bellows on top. In the rear, shock absorbers and the bellows are separated.

The Active dampers in W205 Airmatic use the same function as the ADS system in the C63 where it is possible to change the shock properties to softer or harder, this is done without air bellows, hence not affecting ride height.

And I have never said that there is zero difference between my car and a stock one, but as I drive new 205.s every day I have the ability to compare all different setups to my own, and yes it is stiffer, but not by much, in Comfort mode the change is almost not noticeable.

I am not sure if your question was directed to me or to members in general?
I am not familiar with the Rohana brand of wheels...In regards to advice on what is recommended I would start with contacting Rohana and finding out if their wheels are made specifically for Mercedes, find out where the wheels are made, are they TUV approved, and are they designed to properly fit the car and use the factory alignment equipment- meaning do they have the 5 holes in between the lug holes that are designed to work with the guide pins on the factory alignment machine?

There are so many wheels throughout the market, just like there are tons of cars in the market, you chose to buy a Mercedes-Benz which is a premium brand, so when it comes to anything aftermarket I would choose something that is specifically for Mercedes.

There are different strokes for different folks...in the car business we always say there is an Ass for every seat! Choose what you like because you like it, but just make sure you are modifying your car with a product that is right for your Mercedes. :)

Nice looking wheels! Agree on going with 19" for C300.

w205 19 inch wheels and tyres

hi guys i have a w205 c220d currently on 18 inch oem wheels. i am changing to 19 inch 19*8.5 front and 19*9.5 rear

Can you advise on tyre size? i was advised 235 35 19 for the front and 265 30 19 for the rear, i just think the rear 30 profile will be too low and the car may not look nice unless lowered

Any advise is welcomed
