Removing the central console?

Anyone knows how to take out the console? Wanna to install dash cam and get the power cord from 12V to the central mirror, just want to arrange the cables anywhere out of my sight...

I'd like to know how to do this too. I want to run the usb from the centre console to the cup holder cubby where I'll place an iPhone dock.

Just in case you weren't aware, there's another thread about dash cams which discusses connecting directly to the fusebox rather than via 12v socket.

Its easy.

Open stowage box,

Pull stowage box "metal" trim upwards, when lifted slightly, pull in lock tabs on the sides with screwdriver or similar to loosen it completely.

Unscrew the two bolts holding the center panel

Lift the panel carefully while disconnecting the electrical connectors.

That video should help:

Hey Viper could you tell us where to find the lock tabs on the side?

vic viper 01-12-2015 07:01 AM

There are 2 tabs on each side if I am not mistaken, you need to pull hard to get the first bit up.

Very cool videos! I'm sure to Vic looks ez, but to me it doesn't look like a job for the faint at heart.

Cool. Does anyone know if there a vendor supplying one with touch screen to run a normal GPS software?
