Faulty drive belt?

Have any of you guys had issues with the 'drive belt' in these C300's? Mine looks to have slipped off of whatever pulley it was originally attached to, to no fault of my own. Unfortunately, my car is literally 1300 miles out of warranty, so I have no idea how MB is going to handle this situation.

Am I wrong for thinking that MB should be held accountable for this issue? This seems to be a design flaw that shouldn't allow the belt to be so easily removed from its original place.

W205, X253, C190, W213,
Drive belt? The serpentine belt at the front of the engine that runs the fan, alternator, power steering pump, etc?

Every time I had an issue just out of warranty I was able to get Mercedes to goodwill it, including a complete transmission! Having said that, I've continuously bought Mercedes cars for 30 years so I might get special treatment. It's worth a try, though.

The only issue that I see is that a belt is a wear item, so it's not covered under any warranty.
