W205 C250 Sedan
Paint protection?
Hi,
I've been the owner of a W205 C Class since September 2014. C250, AMG sports pack, vision pack, comand pack, polar white.
After having driven the car for about 5,000km, having washed the car about 7-8 times, I've now noticed a few blemishes with the vehicle.
Such as;
- a nick or 2 from rocks
- stains that have been hard to get rid of
- after washing the vehicle, drying with a chamois, I notice the rain stains
Is advisable to get the car professionally washed, possibly detailed and paint protection added to have the exterior last for a while?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

There are many good polymer waxes on the market, including sprays, liquids, and waxes. Most of these do a good job of protecting the paint and its shine. If you have some chips already, you might want to look at a touch up solution like Dr. Colorchip. It works well, as do some other similar products.
Fitted, clear plastic covers do a good job of protecting against chips, but not everyone wants that type of protection on their car.

I am a great believer in long life polymer sealants like Auto Armor from new. I never polish my cars. Nothing sticks. No deterioration or micro scratching . Have it reapplied approx every 4 years.
If you talk to the top paint people like Spies Hecker, Sikkens & Glasurit they will tell you to preserve the clearcoat skin at all costs.

I'm a firm believer in paint protection (clear bra)...I had it done the day after picking up my car. If you're not able to remove the stains yourself then yes I would have it professionally done...especially if you're going to add the paint protection. Typically mild water stains can be removed with a glaze/polish...obviously if you're going to have paint protection added you want your paint to be as near perfect as possible...good luck!!
