Possible bleeding?

I haven't looked much at the bleeding threads so sorry if this is repeated. I have the C400 wit the interior package so I have full leather. However I believe the bleeding you speak of is with MB Tex. I opened my backdoor today and noticed that the back top of my passenger seat had what looked like a weird white spot, so I rubbed it and it looks completely oily after. Are the backs of the seats MB Tex?

Also in the interior package part of seats is made of MB-Tex. Perhaps, these items come from another manufacturer (leather seats are manufactured in Canada). I also have an interior package and so far no problems.

Very, very unlikely that anything is happening with the leather interior.

Interesting. Yesterday afternoon I checked on it again and whatever it was is gone. It has been VERY cold here in the northeast and I distinctly saw a whitish spot on the leather, rubbed it and it got very oily looking. It was not wet, I checked, so it's not like it was dew inside the car. Once it warmed up everything disappeared. Natural leather oils not liking the cold maybe?

Take a pic next time

You'd be the first reported case of leather bleeding, on this site

We may have a winner...

When inspecting the door handle replacement LED work last night, I noticed that the sides of the front and rear headrests were glistening. I touched them, and the substance was oily. I have a pic I'll upload later today. Obviously, it's very minor when compared to the cars with the full MB-Tex interiors. I won't be getting this replaced.

With respect to the LED replacement, which was the primary reason the car was brought in, the dealership returned the car, but forgot to replace it. I am not happy with this service advisor at all.

Took a look last night and noticed a few more areas of potential bleeding with MB-Tex trimmed leather seats.

Based on the pictures you have posted that is definitely bleeding. I believe you are the first to report it for the leather interior.

Yeah, that's the typical MB-Tex bleeding on the headrests. The solution in this case is very simple, in that all the dealer has to do is order new headrests that were built after 1/5.

As far as the seatbacks, it looks like the entire seat cover may have to be replaced for both front seats. If it gets worse, that's what will have to be done. If you can live with wiping it down, then not.

I guess now we know why the original TSB listed both the MB-Tex and leather interiors as being at risk.

It was built in August. It only affects the rear headrests and front seat backs. I am not too bothered by this. I only noticed it when fishing out my iPhone that fell behind the seat. I guess the front head restraints are all leather. Also, my car does not have the full interior package. It has leather that was a $1750 option. Although you cannot build just leather using the configurator, both this model and an almost identical one I almost bought back in August had the standalone option.

This past week I had a loaner that was also an 08/14 build. It was with black MB-Tex. The bleeding was horrific and similar to what some of you have had to endure. It also had a few LED door handles in various stages of death (one out, two turning purple).

I admit I took delivery of the first W205 at the dealership here, so some of these growing pains were to be expected.

The interior package includes leather, the configurable ambient lighting, ventilated seats, and memory settings for the passenger seat.

My care has option D01, upholstery package, which is a leather interior but does not include the ambient lighting, cooled seats, or the memory settings for the passenger seat.

If you look online, you cannot configure one with package D01, which is $1750 versus the $2300 for the interior package. I wish I had the full interior package, but I bought mine from the dealer's inventory.
