Do you own a non-AMG W205? Are you considering a non-AMG W205? If not, do you really have any business posting all over here about this?
I personally find nothing appealing about any AMG Mercedes, yet you don't see me coming over to the AMG section and trolling. Think about that.

The most concerning one is yours about trolling as IMO the forum is about reading/discussing MB's of all stripes and colors. One doesn't have to own a W205 or wanting to buy one to post opinions about it.
I have no interest in buying one but love to read about the cars and people's opinions. Since features & tech filter through all models I can most likely provide information or opinions of value to others. Does that make me a troll?
In your description it would...
Re. the C450, Mercedes is simply copying the BMW playbook. They are making a killing on the M-Sport cosmetics/small performance bits and MB has vowed to increase the margin per car, so I am sure we'll see more of that.
Customers are just willing to shell out money to come closer to their M/AMG counterparts.
AMG purists will not like like as the distinction blurs between run of the mill and factory exotic. So, of course the AMG brand is diluted in the mind of the AMG buyer, but not the average customer or MB corporate.

I understand the strong reaction by long time AMG owners. If some of you C450 advocates don't want distraction, maybe start a thread title clearly restrict it to C450 discussion only.
But again nothing can be much value if only discussed in isolation.

The title of the thread with "one fast poser" allows comparison, humor and even ridicules, with respect of course.

For 2014 ... The e550 was only offered in a sport... Benz felt that if you opted for a v8 you wanted sport ...
I would have to agree with Benz... The more dollars the consumer spends on horsepower the more likely they'll want a stiffer ride and better handling etc associated with that power ...
Basically as I see it between the c63 and c450... The 7g vs mct is a little bit of a big deal... Some may not like the mct for daily driving ..
And the 7g is a rate limiting step for mods/tune of the c450... It cannot handle the power like the mct can...

I am sure they have the sales figures to reflect that information.
But like I said, some buyers want power and comfort...
e.g. I never considered the E350 because it lacks both comfort and power. Airmatic is not an option for the E350, and the V6 was not enough for me.
If a customer like me were shopping for a W205, they would want a powerful W205 with Airmatic.
I assume that MB has decided that they will gain more customers with the sporty C450 AMG than they will lose from the (powerful and comfortable) W205 shopper. I am sure that the C400 with Airmatic sales numbers are low.

There was a thread for exactly that but it was locked because the same people arguing in this thread were doing so in there. All the threads regarding the C450 have become threads like this and it becomes tiresome for people that are actually interested in the car. Surely you can understand the frustration...?
If the frustration is with some trolls who do not contribute to the thread, by all means remove them.

Not if the title itself suggests a wide range of discussions, supporters of one model regularly use other models for comparison, especially when information used for comparison is either inaccurate or baseless.

My frustration is with the trolls (both AMGers and non-AMGers) who aren't adding to the debate in a productive way. I have a few questions about the car which I don't feel will be addressed because of the trolling happening in any thread related to the c450.
Nonetheless I think we agree. It will be interesting to see the official release and reviews.

You want more? You have to have the last word? What are you 12? So let's further discuss then. If it's not brand dilution, let's see what number of C450 that sell. If the C450 sells more than the C63, based on any past numbers the C63 sold before, then it is brand dilution. If it's about MB selling more cars, then its about volume. It may be about volume, a market strategy to draw in more would-be AMG owners that otherwise would not or could not afford the C63 product...sound like brand dilution? Because that's what it is! Put it this way Einstein what happens when the C63 Black Series is released, how will the C450 be viewed then? When that happens, I bet there is going to be many de-badged C450's out there for obvious reasons... The C63 sales number will tell if the brand was diluted or not. It's more than just selling cars...some models will suffer it happens all the time. The C300 will be the most popular in volume. If the C450 is more popular than the C63 (and if those C63 numbers are low by any previous year by comparison) then the C class AMG brand became diluted.

Wow. As an outsider who came to this forum to learn more about the new C class, and potentially the C450 as my potential next car, I must say I'm shocked at the attitude on these boards. The immature name calling and vitriol thrown at differing viewpoints is something I've not seen on other similar forums, and is certainly not what I would have expected.
I'm honestly astounded that this type of juvenile behavior is allowed by the mods without intervention. What a huge turnoff to what could have been a good resource.

I too prefer the looks of the C450. Nice lines, like the black mirrors and sill treatments z( or lack thereof). AWD is a huge plus in wet/inclement weather and I do agree with JRCART that it's hard to tell the difference though. So what, it's still not an AMG and won't dilute the brand. Only increase brand exposure. Just take the AMG off the front fenders and all will be happy.

Are you talking volume or brand?? Two district issues. The C class has always sold more than the C AMG class and it's always been limited production, just as the ZO6 Vette is for GM. Different cars, different missions. I can guarantee that the C450 will sell more than the c63 and it's supposed to. That's not brand dilution, it's simply smart sales. The AMG cars will always be special and the C450 will not take away from that.
So what it looks like the C63. So too does the Z51 look a lot like the Z06 at a distance.

The difference comes when you have someone who purposely picks out the thread to call the car "junk" and **** all over those who potentially might be interested in it because they feel insulted that it even exists. Trolling comes in all forms, but the obvious problem is when someone constantly feels the need to stir a pot over and over. Then the constant attacks and lack of class come out of certain members and it all just goes down the tube.
Personally, I am excited about the C450. I'll never own one as I can't abide a V6 in any form, but I appreciate the car as it is as marvel of engineering and beauty.

It's just c63 owners feeling a bit insecure because the c450 is getting such good reviews.
The c450 is the only AMG that offers AWD so this only makes it a no brainer for those that want this feature.

P.S don't tell them that the CLA 45 actually beat the M235 in tons of comparisons and track tests or else we might have to deal with a riot!

As an aside, I (and I suspect most others) do not classify the C450 as a true AMG. It only has some components shared with the top model and has been lightly brushed by AMG but that does not qualify it as being AMG imo.

Agreed loool. People are so damn insecure here.
I was going to ask a question here, but I think I will move it to the car and driver C450 thread.
Thanks

You are correct sir. This thread is apparently not for Q&A (judging by the title), but for some people to make statements, and other people to correct their statements.
