Being extremely limited (rant)
Hello everyone
I currently live in bangkok, thailand. Recently went to a mercedes benz dealership and asked the staff which c-class models were available. To my horror, only the c180 exclusive and c300 hybrid amg were available. I called mercedes benz thailand to inquire about it and they confirmed that these 2 models are the only ones available in the whole country.
There are 2 types of pricing too. If it's fully assembled outside thailand, c180 exclusive costs USD 86,207 (only base model available) and c300 hybrid amg costs USD 98,576.
If 51% of the parts are assembled in thailand, c180 exclusive costs USD 80,053 (only base model available) and c300 hybrid amg costs USD 92,406.
Not only do i get ****ty prices, no customisation can be done aswell. I cannot change the interior leather colour (only black available), i cannot change the inlaid materials to wood, i cannot get a sunroof if it isn't already on, no avantgarde or amg trim for the c180. I cannot do *******g anything to customise the interior or exterior to my liking.
Can anyone tell me how this is possible? There is an MB factory literally in the next province and they can't even change the seat colours. What shiet is this.

When I was in Japan a couple of years ago, if you wanted a Lexus you would order it, it was then shipped to the US and then shipped back to Japan. Makes a lot of sense. Guess it's so everyone gets a piece of the pie.

We have part of the same in the UK. Our petrol options here are the C200 or the C63. Hopefully the C450 will plug the gap but that appparently isn't available until June 2016.
