Windows down using Key fob outside of car?

My guess re the distance thing is they do it to prevent accidental operation.
My BMW for example will open its Windows from a huge distance away. Great you might say... But I've come back to the car on several occasions where the windows are wide open because I've been sat nearby and the key was pressed in my pocket by accident.

I'd imagine this could have been implemented without hardware using MB star diagnostics config tool, but there's no-one out there posting this if it has, after 4 years of deleted convenience window feature on the W205 key ignition models.

Interesting, my Audi A6 will unlock from a distance but will not wind down windows until about one third of unlock distance. I'm presuming it's all RF key activated. W204 C class used IR for Windows, RF for unlock, and the IR sensors were prone to faults. I think the W205 is all RF, even though the generic key has an IR transmitter in it. Either way it's part of Keyless go package, it's not on the standard key turn ignition models, which is a retrograde step for MB. I've ordered a little door installed device which works by detecting the RF key presses and then ports to the can bus afaik to instruct the windows to open/close.

I've just come across this €62/$67 device, overplugs into the control wiring in the drivers door and gives remote key convenience or summer opening of Windows. I don't have it on mine, its part of keyless go package, but a lot of W205 C class in UK and Ireland have a normal key turn to start, so would be affected. I'll order one and try it.

I had some time to try installing this device. Only then did I look closely at packet and I see I have the same item number as you ending in BE05, not BE07, which is on the list used by the seller. I tried installing anyway, it did not work. I installed on the drivers door, Right hand drive car so right door. I assume this is correct, I did not open the left hand door as in the instructions. Is your car left or right hand drive. I have sent a message to the seller, and I will open a dispute if it is not satisfactory. Have you done this yet? Also, when the device was connected, my mirrors stopped folding on lock, so this is definitely not suitable.

I just tried it on my C400. Only worked through the drivers side and it lowered all my windows and opened the Pano roof!
I was able to close them all by holding the lock button.

I install it on drivers door right hand drive and It didn't work.I told the seller about the part number and told me that this is the correct one and she told me to send irt back, but to be honest I didn't and left it in the garage.I think Europe version is different than USA or China,I don't know.

CYHY module for W250 without convenience opening.
I tried installing on the left side door. Also followed additional instructions supplied by seller, start engine for a while first, stop. Press remote 3-5 times for open windows etc. I locked, unlocked, mirrors now folding correctly on lock. Tried opening windoes but it still does not work. I will send it back and ask for LY-ZK-BE07, or refund.

I sent this back, Aliexpress approved refund, but the supplier later messaged a different address to the one on the CYHY website, which had taken an age to find as I had no documentation or invoice with the product. Another €18 to send back, tracked all the way to China, but the supplier is acting dumb and says it is the wrong address, tho the packet could be collected by the supplier at the depot. The address is almost identical, same post code and same person, so it's obviously a fly by night operation, offloading out of date stock. I may just write off the €80, and post a Black Mark for Aliexpress.

Further to this, the item was returned to me all the way from China. I had emailed supplier and told hime itemwas being held at the local post ofice, according to tracking, i gave him the tracking no. to collect. What a joke. Aliexpress just say the time for dispute is expired. Iy might work in a different spec w205. who knows.

I have w205 c200 2015 and it did not work how did it work for you?
My W205 doesn't have the same black IR receiver that my W204 had. I tested and I can roll them down with the remote while its inside my jeans pocket, so no real chance IR is involved. I did notice I can only do it when I'm within about 6 feet of the car, so I suspect it's based on proximity as well as the RF signal.
