Keyless GO: any advice?

I found it not consistent. Sometimes it works nicely. Sometimes it does not.

I know one thing not to do is to touch both inside and outside at the same time as it will confuse the system. I've been avoid doing that. But that's not enough.

Any other pointers?

Thanks

well for one...you are not alone. Just out of curiosity do you have another keyless go fob for another car on your keychain. Once in a while my keyless go/remote access doesn't work for a 5 minute period. The only consistent solution I had was to walk away from the car and try again after 5 minutes. However last time this happened, I instead hit the unlock button on my other key fob, and immediately after that my c400 keyless go worked again. I'm not sure if this was a one of or if it works consistently.....

When washing the car take the key out of your pocket. I must have locked and unlocked the car 72 times.

The key is still in the car. Where could we put it?

The key is by itself. Nothing else. I've resorted to the unlock button on the key a few times now.

Not had an issue. I keep the key in my right jacket pocket and my phone in the left. No issue.

I did however unlock and lock the car quite a bit when washing so yes put the key away when washing lol.. Those mirrors folding in then out then in start to annoy.

the newer keyless go systems have a feature to temporarily disable keyless for for this reason. i believe you hold down the lock button for a few seconds until the led on the remote starts flashing.

Pressing lock twice disables it. Pressing unlock enables it again.

It happens every once in a while. If it happens, simply use the remote the "old way" and unlock the doors/trunk with the key fob. It always works after that for me. Not a big deal.

My first C300 would, every once in a while, not respond to the fob. Sometimes it wouldn't unlock, other times it had to be started with the fob in the ignition. Usually, the function would return with a push of the unlock button.

I had a C300 loaner for a while that absolutely would lock you out, and pushing the unlock button did nothing. A couple of times, I had to use the emergency key to get in. Changing the battery did not help.

On my new C300, everything has worked fine so far, but it''s too early to know if the problem has been addressed by MB.

As an aside, the display will warn you if your fob battery is getting low. I saw that once on my last C300.

That is so annoying, I was using a pressure hose at the car was the other night to clean my car and even the pressure of the water was continually locking and unlocking my doors and mirrors.

I had a habit of double pressing the lock button with my old car. Did the same with this one and kept wondering what was going on.

As others have pointed make sure you only click on lock once.
